Vintage Sterling Navajo Old Pawn Turquoise 5 Stone Necklace Bench BeadsSIGNED
Vintage Sterling Navajo Old Pawn Turquoise 5 Stone Necklace Bench BeadsSIGNED. Offered today is a stunning vintage Old Pawn sterling silver Native American Navajo turquoise 5 stone necklace. This is one of a few pieces given to me by one of my consignor jewelers, who is actually himself, a true Native American silversmith. He did not make this particular necklace, but it came from his vast collection of vintage Navajo sterling inventory. He dates it to the 1940s or thereabouts. It is hand-signed (kind of weird, looks almost like two separate signatures on the pendants–see photos) but I was unable to determine the silversmith who made the necklace. It looks like a wave with a line over the top. I have a “smaller” King’s Manassa turquoise squash blossom necklace in my listings with the same signature this week. The five turquoise are a gorgeous color, with little to no matrix (probably hand-chosen purposely). They are set in bezels with cable work around them and stamping on the border silver. They hang from 8 mm handmade bench beads, and the necklace closes with an old-style hook and eye clasp. This is just STUNNING on the neckline. Much better in person than on the fake neck stand. The turquoise pendants are approximately 1 1/4″ by 7/8″, and the centerpiece is 5.5 wide. The necklace tests positive for sterling silver, measures approximately 16 long and weighs 47.2 grams. It is left with its original patina, and is in very good vintage condition. PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT THE ITEMS I SELL ARE “VINTAGE” OR ESTATE ITEMS, AND THEREFORE ARE NOT NEW–SO PLEASE EXPECT NORMAL WEAR. I WILL DO MY BEST TO DESCRIBE ANY DEFECTS/FLAWS IN THE ITEM. PLEASE VIEW THE PHOTOS CAREFULLY AS THE SUPERSIZED PHOTOS ARE AN INTEGRAL PART OF THE LISTING. I CANNOT END AUCTIONS EARLY, AND PLEASE DO NOT MAKE AN OFFER. I sell on consignment for jewelers who set the prices on my items. My pricing is UP FRONT–(not inflated just so I can lower)–and I price as low as possible, with no “wiggle room”–in order to meet my consignor’s net price. THANKS FOR YOUR UNDERSTANDING.
